FULL PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

This is a CAD dwg drawing for a Pseudo Timber Roof On Concrete Slab Framing Plan View. Having a timber roof on top of flat reinforced concrete roof slab is a design practice that has been becoming more and more preferred in the past few years.

Even though constructing a double roof structure (both slab and timber roof)  might be a little more expensive ( some may argue differently ) it can provide a double layer of thermal and waterproofing insulation for a building. Some may say that since the timber roof is only constructed with light sections and there is no need for heavy trusses it might cost much less and is much faster in construction time.

Pseudo Roof

We would say that for complex shapes buildings, designing and constructing a regular timber roof with trusses, many cornens, hips, valleys etc might be a bit compersome. And this is where the pseudo timber roof comes in.

Use with any project

This dwg drawing shows an example of such a pseudo timber pitched roof, how it should be framed and presented on structural drawings. Drawing shows the necessary timber posts ( to reduce the section size of primary and secondary rafters ), layout of primary and secondary rafters with respect to a particular building shape.

This is a must have detail when designing such pseudo timber roofs. In the case where designing a regular timber roof, one can easile replace the timber posts and primary rafters with much heavier section hip rafters or even wooden trusses depending on span and design. With simple CAD commands this detail can be made to fit all possible design situations.
