Having a timber roof on top of flat reinforced concrete roof slab is a design practive that has been becoming more and more preferred in the past few years. Even though constructing a double roof structure (both slab and timber roof)  might be a little more expensive ( some may argue differently ) it can provide a double layer of thermal and waterproofing insulation for a building. Some may say that since the timber roof is only constructed with light sections and there is no need for heavy trusses it might cost much less and is much faster in construction time.

We would say that for complex shapes buildings, designing and constructing a regular timber roof with trusses, many cornens, hips, valleys etc might be a bit compersome. And this is where the pseudo timber roof comes in.
